Travel along the National Highway to visit Paarl (Pearl) a town that hosts the Afrikaans language monument and some fine examples of Dutch arhitecture to a wine farm where part of the vines are cultivated by workers who produce their own wine.After leaving this area we travel past Groot Drackenstein Prison formally called Victor Verster where Madiba finished his long walk to freedom and was released. Travel then to Franschoek where Hugenoet settlers arrived after escaping religous persecution for optional lunch at the many high class resturants in the main road, after lunch visit the Hugenout Monument and the museum (optional) after leaving Franshoek another opportunity for wine tasting will be available en route to Stellenbosch, a place of cultural and historical significance a tour around the town either on foot at your own time or for the less adventurous among us in the vehicle
