This tour offers a wealth of insight into South African history and culture. It offers you a unique opportunity to witness the daily lives of our diverse communities. To interact with the people that make up our "Rainbow Nation" , be inspired by their spirit, ingenuity and dynamism- striving to build a better future for all! Tour highlights: Visit to Bokaap - the Malay Quarter, District Six and its museum - see Cape Town life as it was during the apartheid years. Travel to Langa Township, approximaately 15 minutes drive from Cape Town CBD area. Langa (meaning sun) is named after a chief of Hlubi tribe, Chief Langalibalele who resisted local government in Natal. This is the oldest and the smalest township in Cape Town.(+-40 minutes walking tour of the township is available on request) We continue to Khayelitsha Township (meaning new home) via Gugulethu Township (meaning our pride) . Khayelitsha is one of the biggest townships in South Africa. We visit a shebeen (pub), craft markets and some projects which are helping previously disadvantaged communities to develop and build a better life for all. Later and optional, visit to the notorius Robben Island.
