THE BLUE TRAIN

A five star travelling masterpiece, the Blue Train features 16 luxurious, elegantly decorated carriages each with individually controlled air-conditioning, private en-suite bathroom facilities with bath or shower option. There are two classes to choose from- luxury or De Luxe Suite. With its distinctive sapphire-blue train carriages, the Blue Train is one of the finest hotels on wheels. It offers luxurious accommodation, celebrated cuisine and service of the highest standard.

The luxury element on board the train is accentuated by the personal butler service. The Blue Train prides itself on the fine cuisine it offers its guests with meals that are accompanied by a wide selection of South African wines sourced from only from boutique vineyards. Elegantly equipped with an array of audio-visual equipment. The train can accommodate up to 22 guests.

ITINERARY:

07H50-08H30: Register and check in at Pretoria Station. Enjoy pre-departure snacks and drinks.

08H30: Boarding starts,butlers usher guests to their suites. Suite orientation done by butlers

12H00- 14H00: First lunch sitting

14H00-16H00: Second lunch sitting

15H30: High tea served in the Lounge Car

17H10: The train arrives at Kimberley Station. Guests disembark and assemble at the railway museum from where they will be ushered to the

bus, which will be taking them to the centre of Kimberley to join an old tram for a ride down to the mine.

17H45: Guests arrive at the Open Mine Museum for a tour of the diamond mine.

18H35: Guests depart for Kimberley station where they will be greeted with a glass of sherry. The sherry glass with The Blue Train logo

on is a memento for gusets to keep.

19H05: The train departs for Cape Town. An opportunity will be allowed for guests to refresh themselves and enjoy pre-dinner drinks served

at one of the lounges. Remember:dinner is an elegant affair and men are requested to wear a jacket and tie. or dress in traditional attire and

ladies in elegant evening or traditional wear.

19H30: First dinner sitting

21H15: Second dinner sitting

DAY 2:

07H00-10H00: Breakfast served on first come first serve basis. Otherwise breakfast is served in-suite at the guests'request.

12H00: The train arrives at Cape Town station. Butlers usher guests to the station lounge. Bon Voyage!!
